New President and Vice President of the IRF elected

North Bay, Ontario, Canada January 3rd, 2014 – After a successful Board meeting during the recent World Ringette Championships, the International Ringette Federation (IRF) is pleased to announce that Sini Forsblom from Riihimäki, Finland is the new President while Beth Hurren of Bowmanville, ON, Finland was appointed to the position of Vice-President.

Sini is an accomplished ringette athlete and coach who earned 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal in her playing career as a member of Team Finland and was the assistant captain. She is currently employed as a police detective in Finland.

Beth Hurren has been involved with ringette for over 25years as an athlete and coach and is a past member of Team Canada earning 3 silver medals.  Beth was also a participant in the first two World Club Championship events.  She currently works as a Registered Massage Therapist.

 “I am extremely pleased with the people who have been chosen to lead the IRF and am confident they will carry the organization forward.  Based on the discussions we had this week, I am very excited about ringette’s future.” said outgoing president David Mills. “I am proud to have been involved with this sport and wish the best to Sini Forsblom and her team!”
