Five Slovak girls traveled to Finland on Friday 18th for six days to have a Ringette camp. Lucia Záborská, Ewa Lamperová, Paulína Slivková, Martina Chmelíková and Veronika Úradníková have already played and will play a few more times with different Finnish teams and learn new things about ringette. Veronika has been in Finland once before, but all of the other girls are in Finland for the first time. From Friday until Sunday they stayed in the Southern parts of Finland before heading to be the guests of LuKi-82 Luvia C-junior team!

On Friday evening the Slovaks went to Kerava and had a practice with the Shakers Lady team. At first there was a small problem, because the goalie gear bag did not arrive in Finland at the same time with the Slovaks. Luckily, with the help of Eeva Kangassalo and Elli Vilenius, Veronika got to be on ice with the equipment she borrowed from them.

A Canadian girl Logan Linton joined them, and also played in the first game on Saturday morning against Blue Rings White B-juniors in Kellokoski, Tuusula. Few girls from Blue Rings played with the Slovaks. The goalie equipment had arrived during the night and Veronika received her own gear so that she could play in the game. However, the jerseys had to be borrowed from the Blue Rings girls.

Paulína Slívkova scored her first ever goal in the game.

The next event was to watch a Finnish National Ringette League game in Hyvinkää, Luvia vs. Hyvinkää. Team Slovakia coach Miia Railio plays in Luvia so the girls got to see their coach play.

On Sunday morning the Slovaks got to play with Hyvinkää Ringette N-team and B-juniors. The girls had already improved a lot from Friday evening!

From Hyvinkää they left to Raisio to see another Finnish National Ringette League game NoU Nokia vs. RNK Raisio. Girls got to choose the players of the game and hand out prizes for them. From RNK Raisio they chose #6 Siiri Kallionpää, and from NoU Nokia they chose #39 Kaisa Viren. In the evening they played against RNK Raisio N-team. For that game the Slovaks got girls from Turun Ringette C-juniors and VG-62 Naantali N-team players to play with them. In that game Lucia Záborská scored her first goal and also got to try a penalty shot.

International Ringette Federation thanks all the players, teams and clubs for their help and support for the Ringette camp of Slovaks!
