Sini Forsblom hands over IRF presidency to Jane Casson

2017-12-11 18:54

Sini Forsblom leaves the IRF Council after seven years of service, first as vice president for three years and last four years as president. We cannot thank Sini enough for her devotion to the sport of ringette and her influence as a champion of the sport worldwide. We wish Sini best of luck in her future endeavors. This is the message Sini passed on as she handed over to Jane Casson.

What a ride!

Never in my wildest dreams did I see myself as a part of the International Ringette Federation Executive. In 2010 I could have never imagined what the work would be like, who I would meet or work with and where I would end up. Seven years later I can only say: what a ride!

Sport development in ringette requires activities on many levels. I had the honour of working with the Central European countries like Czech Republic and Slovakia, and to be there to accept them as members of the IRF. That is by far the biggest achievement we as the IRF had during the past seven years. I have no doubt that the IRF will have more new members and success during the upcoming years.

On my behalf I would like to thank the hard working people in the IRF Executive as well as everyone in the IRF board. I have learned so much during these years and will be forever grateful for all the things I have learned along the way and people I have met through international ringette during these years. Best of luck to the new president Jane Casson and the whole IRF crew!

Yours in ringette,

Sini Forsblom
